It can be difficult to discern when it is time to seek help for your teenager, as it is often thought of as normal development for teens to struggle during this stage of life. Although adolescence typically brings about challenges, it is important to recognize when it’s time to intervene.
Therapy can help teenagers with a wide variety of issues including self-regulating emotions, interpersonal and communication skills, self-esteem, gender identity issues, depression, connection with parents, anxiety, OCD, body image issues, video game/electronic device abuse or overuse and perfectionism.
Our approach to working with teens involves our clinicians truly meeting the teen where they are at and then helping them move closer to their goals, taking one step at a time. Teens often appreciate the confidentiality included in treatment and tend to make gradual gains over time.
